Team Overview

Team Sahlen campaigns two HRPWorld.com Chevrolet Corvettes in the Grand American Rolex Series GT Class. Drivers are Joe & Wayne Nonnamaker in #43 and Joe Sahlen and Will Nonnamaker in #42. Additionally the team will be campaigning a HRPWorld.com Mazda RX-8 in the Grand American Koni Challenge Series Street Tuner Class. Team Sahlen has been competing in Professional Sports Car Racing since 1983. In that time, the team has garnered 7 Team, 7 Driver & 11 Manufacturer Championships along with over 50 victories to their credit. Sahlen Packing Company was founded in 1869 in Buffalo, New York as a family business. Company founder Joseph Sahlen dedicated himself to one guiding principle: only the freshest and highest quality meat products would bear the proud Sahlen name.

Mike Thomas, Team Manager
Mike Thomas joined the team in 1993 and since the 1995 season, Thomas has held the role of Crew Chief. Thomas had a long history of endurance racing before coming to the team. A long time competitor of the team, Thomas was involved with other Sport Touring efforts in the mid 80's. Thomas has been an essential ingredient in the team's success over the past ten years. His abililties have been recognized by his peers as he has been named the 2001 Sport Touring Crew Chief of the Year, 2003 Grand Sport Crew Chief of the Year, and 2004 Grand Sport Crew Chief of the Year. The award is voted on by fellow teams, series officials, and members of the media.
