Team Overview
Team owner and driver Sylvain Tremblay established SpeedSource in 1995 to provide full-service race services and custom components to both SCCA and pro drivers. In 1996 Sylvain led his team’s success with two wins in the IMSA Endurance Championship in a Mazda RX-7 twin turbo. After winning the team championship in 1998, the two-car RX-7 team was retired, and Tremblay turned his focus to the SCCA driver. The No. 70 ITS of Sylvain and David Haskell won both the 1998 and 1999 ARC titles.
In 2001, the Grand-Am KONI Challenge endurance series marked the come back of SpeedSource to professional racing and a major switch from Mazda to Porsche.
Tremblay grew his Grand-Am effort to two cars in the Rolex Sports Car Series in 2007, sporting twin Mazda RX-8s. Heading into 2008, the team continues field Mazdas in both the Rolex Series and KONI Challenge Series.
